Rose Tres Leche

 Who doesn't like roses and what what happens when we add it in food. Yes in India dry rose petals are used in Paan and sweets but have you ever thought of using it in cake. I ate a very delicious cake some months back known as Tres Leche , it's an Spanish especial delicacy. But, then there comes the fusion. Yes! You heard it right and may be guessed it right till now. Yes I made "Rose Tres Leche". Tres means three and leche means milk. When we convert it in English it doesn't sound that fancy , I mean " three milks". Nah! Keep it as tres leche only. And in addition to that my beautiful Charmin son helped me in baking this cake and made his own special appearances in between video. Hope you all enjoy his expressions.

Ingredients:
  • 1 + 3/4th cup of All purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3/4th cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4th tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup + 4 tbsp milk
  • 1/4th cup oil
  • 1/4th cup butter
  • 1-2 drops of pink food color
  • 1/4th cup condensed milk
  • 1/4th cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4th cup condensed milk
  • 2 + 2 +1 tbsp of roohafza (Rose sorbet)
  • 1/4th cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 or 1 cup of whipped cream
Method:
  1. Sift the dry ingredients, all purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt together and keep aside.
  2. Mix 1/2 cup + 4 tbsp milk, yogurt, oil, butter, sugar and 2 tbsp of roohafza together.
  3. Add all dry sifted ingredients with wet ingredients.
  4. Pre heat the oven at 180 C or 350 F.
  5. Get the baking tray ready by greasing with oil/butter and some dry flour.
  6. Pour the batter in it and bake the cake for 30-35 mins.
  7. After cake is ready let it completely cool at room temperature.
  8. After its cool down, prepare a mix of, 1/4th cup milk, 1/4th cup condensed milk, 1/4th cup heavy whipping cream and 2 tbsp roohafza. Cut a very thin top layer of cake. Spread this mixture all over the cake. Keep cake refrigerated for 15-20 minutes.
  9. After that spread the whipped cream on top of it. I don't like too much cream on my cakes so I just crumb coated but its your choice.
  10. Sprinkle some crushed pistachios. If you have rose petals please feel free to add them on top. If not I just sprinkled some crushed almonds.
  11. Cut the cake in equal size of pieces.
  12. Mix 1/4th cup whole milk ans 1 tbsp of roohafza. At the time of serving pour some milk with cake piece.
