Its a very famous breakfast among Sindhi Cuisines. Its easy and fast to make. It tastes very delicious.

- 1 & 1/2 Cup of Wheat Flour
- 1/2 Tsp salt
- water to make the dough
- Oil to deep fry + 4 Tbsp
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds/Jeera
For Dal:
- 2 Cups of Chana Dal/Split Chickpeas/Garbanzo beans soaked for 1-2 Hrs.
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin/Jeera seeds
- 1/2 Tsp Aamchur/Dry Mango Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Garam masala Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4th Tsp Turmeric/Haldi Powder
- 1/4th Tsp Coriander Powder/Dhaniya powder
- 1 Tsp Garlic/lehsun finely chopped (Optional)
- Finely chopped onion/Pyaj and coriander leaves/dhaniya patti to garnish
- 2 Tbsp of oil
- 1/2 Cup of water
Procedure to make Pakwaan:
- Mix wheat flour, cumin seeds, salt and 4 Tbsp of oil. Then, slowly add water and make dough. This dough is like Puri dough. Don't make it very soft. Keep it a little tight.
- Heat the oil for deep frying.
- Take a small ball from the dough and with the help of rolling pin, roll it in circle shape.
- With the help of knife, make some marks on it so that when we fry, it should not puff up.
- Deep fry them until brown..
Procedure for Dal:
- Add salt and turmeric powder in dal and boil until cooked.
- Heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once cumin seeds starts changing color, add garlic into it. Once garlic started changing its color, add coriander powder and boiled dal & water into it.
- When water comes to boil, add dry mango powder and garam masala powder into it.
- Let it cook for 2 minutes. Garnish with finely chopped onion and coriander leaves.
- Serve with pakwaan.
