Double Decker Choco Fruit Lava Cake

This cake is a great combination of two different layers. One layer is of chocolate lava cake and another layer is of mixed fruit cake. The combination of these two layers makes it very different from any other cake and tastes very different and delicious.

Serves: 12                                                                                  Time: 50 Minutes

  • 3 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tbsp  Baking powder
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 30 gms Chocolate
  • 1/2 Cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 Cup whole cherries
  • 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 4 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 & 1/2 Cup of Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Vanilla essence
  • 2 Cups heavy cream + 1/4th cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup of mix fruit small pieces [Pinepple + apple + kiwi] {You can use any fruits of your choice}
  • 1 Cup Pineapple Juice
  • 6 Tbsp of Whipped Butter
  • 1 Cup Oil
  • 1 Cup of milk
  • 1 Cup of water
  • Butter to greese the cake tray
Procedure for lower layer of chocolate Lava Cake:
  1. Mix 1& 1/2 Cup of Flour, 1 & 1/2 Tbsp of Baking Powder, 1 Tsp baking soda, 1/2 Tsp salt,  2 tbsp Cocoa Powder and 1/3rd Cup of sugar and keep aside.
  2. Separately mix chocolate chips, Cherries, honey and 2-3 tbsp of milk and keep aside.
  3. Pre-Heat the oven at 350 F or 180 C.
  4. Now, take 3 Tbsp of whipped butter, 1 & 1/2 tbsp of vanilla essence, whip them. Add mixture we created in step 1 and milk and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of oil and mix well.
  5. Greese the cake tray with butter and pour half of the mixture into it. Then, pour cherries and chocolate chips mixture above it. The, pour rest half of the mixture on it.
  6. Bake it for 25-30 minutes.
Procedure for upper layer of fruit cake:
  1. Mix 1 & 1/2 Cup of Flour, 1 & 1/2 Tbsp of Baking powder, 1 Tsp of baking soda, 1/2 Tsp of salt and 1/3rd cup of sugar.
  2. Pre-heat the oven at 350 F or 180 C.
  3. Now, mix 3 Tbsp of whipped butter and 1 & 1/2 tbp of vanilla essence.
  4. Mix flour mixture and pineapple juice into it very well. Add, chopped fruits and 1/2 cup of oil. Mix them with light hands.
  5. Take the tray smaller in width then of first cake tray.
  6. Greese the cake tray and pour the complete batter into it and bake it for 25-30 minutes. 
Procedure to make double decker fruit lava:
  1. Whip the heavy cream and 1/4th cup of sugar till whipped cream is formed.
  2. In a double boiler, melt the 30 gms of chocolate.
  3. In a tray, put the chocolate cake and cover it completely with whipped cream. Cover it with few chopped cherries. [If you wish, you can add slices of kiwi, orange and apple here. They also tastes good]
  4. Put fruit cake above it and cover complete cake with whipped cream.
  5. At the end, pour the melted chocolate above the cake.
